Fun exercise to improve balance... related...

When you wake for the morning, lift your legs slightly and spell the alphabet with your toes in cursive.

That will stretch and strengthen the muscles in your lower leg that control most of your balance. And that will reduce chances you will fall by a large amount.

I came accross this about a year ago.

Got a few 20 year old that work for me try it out. about half could the no arm, no knee method (perfect 10).

this test shows what a massive difference daily low level exercise can achieve. The above mentioned 20 years who failed, were the ones that did no daily exercise at all.

Fun one!

63 yo and scored 10. And on top of my long run this morning, no less.

Ah well, God told the Freeq a long time ago they would live forever. God doesn’t want ‘em back!

Learn Turkish get-ups from this dude. Do them once a week at minimum. Start adding weight when you are comfortable with the sequence.

It's amazing to me how many of the keys he phasized that I've learned over the years through trial and error. But I never thought to train or practice it... thanks.

Keep doing it and alternate which leg crosses over the other to increase strength in both 👍

I can sit down with legs crossed but can Not get back up. 😂 Does this mean I have one foot in the grave?

I hope not. Even the lady in the video used some knee assistance :)

LOL. I did a 10 on my son's birch wood tricking floor, but to be honest it has a little spring built in. Not sure I could do it for the first few hours of the day though.

Well, I’m a goner by this measure. At 72 and a very bad back, I figure that since I can get up unassisted I might have a few more years!

There's no shame in the knee (or the cowboy roll), as the video points out :)

I popped into WMT for some boat winterizing fluid this evening. If it's any consolation, I don't think of the lovely folks I met would have even completed the getting down part successfully. Success is relative :)
