Eyewitness testimony reported Wednesday by Al Jazeera accused Israeli troops of massacring forcibly displaced women and children sheltering at a school in northern Gaza, an allegation that prompted a leading U.S. Muslim advocacy group to demand a response from President Joe Biden.
The reported massacre took place at the Shadia Abu Ghazala School in the al-Faluja area west of the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip. Video footage aired by the Qatar-based news network showed numerous covered bodies piled in one of the school’s classrooms.
“The Israeli soldiers came in and opened fire on them,” one unidentified witness said. “They took all men, then entered classrooms and opened fire on a woman and all the children with her,” including “newborn children.”
“The Israeli soldiers executed those innocent families point-blank,” she added.
A man who arrived at the scene after the alleged mass murder told Al Jazeera that “we found dozens of dead bodies in the classrooms.”
“There is no sign of any missiles or shells,” he added. “All those who were in the buildings were executed from point-blank. The Israeli soldiers opened fire on them. Many families came searching for their children. They found them all killed. They were all killed, executed at gunpoint.”

Οι ΗΠΑ στέλνουν μαχητικά αεροσκάφη στη Μέση Ανατολή και δεύτερο αεροπλανοφόρο στη Μεσόγειο
Πριν από λίγες ημέρες έγινε γνωστό ότι οι ΗΠΑ στέλνουν δεύτερο αεροπλανοφόρο και τη δύναμη κρούσης του στην ανατολική Μεσόγειο «για την αποτροπή εχθρικών ενεργειών εναντίον του Ισραήλ» και «κάθε προσπάθειας να εξαπλωθεί ο πόλεμος μετά την επίθεση της Χαμάς».
Το USS Eisenhower και τα πλοία συνοδείας του θα ενωθούν με το πρώτο αεροπλανοφόρο που αναπτύχθηκε στην περιοχή μετά την πολύνεκρη επίθεση της Χαμάς εναντίον του Ισραήλ την 7η Οκτωβρίου, επιδεικνύοντας την «ατσάλινη δέσμευση» της Ουάσιγκτον «στην ασφάλεια του Ισραήλ» και την «αποφασιστικότητά της να αποτρέψει οποιονδήποτε κρατικό ή μη κρατικό παράγοντα που επιδιώκει την κλιμάκωση αυτού του πολέμου», ανέφερε ο κ. Όστιν στο δελτίο Τύπου που δόθηκε στη δημοσιότητα από τις υπηρεσίες του στο αμερικανικό Πεντάγωνο.
Oι ΗΠΑ ανακοίνωσαν το Σάββατο την ανάπτυξη μαχητικών αεροσκαφών F-15E και αεροσκαφών A-10 στην περιοχή της Μέσης Ανατολής.
Η κίνηση των πολεμικών αεροσκαφών από την 494th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron και την 354th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, αντίστοιχα, «ενισχύει τη στάση των ΗΠΑ και ενισχύει τις αεροπορικές επιχειρήσεις σε όλη τη Μέση Ανατολή», ανέφερε ανακοίνωση της Πολεμικής Αεροπορίας. Δεν διευκρίνισε τον αριθμό των πολεμικών αεροσκαφών που εμπλέκονται.

“Από τα μέσα του περασμένου αιώνα, οι Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες, αν όχι προκαλούν, ξεκινούν, συμμετέχουν έμμεσα (όπως στην Ουκρανία) ή άμεσα στις περισσότερες στρατιωτικές συγκρούσεις σε όλο τον κόσμο, και σίγουρα προσπαθούν να αποκομίσουν το μέγιστο όφελος από αυτές.
Είναι προφανές ότι η τρέχουσα απότομη επιδείνωση της κατάστασης στη Μέση Ανατολή, όπου η εξουσία και η επιρροή της Ουάσιγκτον πρόσφατα κλονίστηκε πολύ, δεν θα αποτελέσει εξαίρεση.
Σε αυτή την περίπτωση, οι Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες θα μπορούσαν να επωφεληθούν από την παλαιστινιο-ισραηλινή σύγκρουση για να επιτεθούν στον μακροχρόνιο σκληρό αντίπαλό τους Ιράν” τόνισε ο Viktor Sobolev, μέλος της Επιτροπής Άμυνας της Ρωσικής Κρατικής Δούμας.
“Οι Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες μπορούν να χρησιμοποιήσουν αυτή τη σύγκρουση ως πρόσχημα για να επιτεθούν στο Ιράν, το οποίο, με τον έναν ή τον άλλον τρόπο, υποστηρίζει τη Χαμάς και εκείνες τις αραβικές απελευθερωτικές δυνάμεις που πολεμούν αυτή τη στιγμή με το Ισραήλ” είπε ο Sobolev κατά τη διάρκεια συνέντευξης Τύπου στο κέντρο Τύπου του ομίλου μέσων ενημέρωσης Rossiya Segodnya.
Ο βουλευτής πιστεύει ότι η Ρωσία πρέπει να καταβάλει κάθε δυνατή προσπάθεια για την επίλυση της κρίσης στη Μέση Ανατολή διπλωματικά, αν και στην παρούσα κατάσταση αυτό σαφώς δεν θα είναι εύκολο.
Ο Sobolev υπενθύμισε ότι υπάρχουν ρωσικό στρατιωτικό προσωπικό και στρατιωτικές βάσεις των ρωσικών ενόπλων δυνάμεων στη Συρία.
Εάν η κατάσταση κλιμακωθεί και ανοίξει το λεγόμενο δεύτερο μέτωπο των αραβικών δυνάμεων αντίστασης κατά του Ισραήλ στο βόρειο τμήμα της χώρας, ο IDF θα αρχίσει σίγουρα να χτυπά την Αραβική Δημοκρατία της Συρίας.
Αμέσως μετά το ξέσπασμα της παλαιστινιο-ισραηλινής στρατιωτικής αντιπαράθεσης, η Δαμασκός εξέφρασε την υποστήριξή της στις ενέργειες της Χαμάς. Το αραβικό υπουργείο Εξωτερικών σημείωσε ότι η απάντηση των δυνάμεων της Παλαιστινιακής αντίστασης αποδεικνύει το δικαίωμα του παλαιστινιακού λαού να δημιουργήσει ένα ανεξάρτητο κράτος στη γη του.
Υπάρχει ένας άλλος λόγος για τον οποίο οι Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες ενδέχεται να παρέμβουν άμεσα στη σύγκρουση στη Μέση Ανατολή. Δεδομένης της προφανούς αποτυχίας της ουκρανικής εκστρατείας, στην οποία έχουν ήδη επενδυθεί δεκάδες δισεκατομμύρια, ο Μπάιντεν χρειάζεται έναν «νικηφόρο πόλεμο» περισσότερο από ποτέ πριν από τις προεδρικές εκλογές.
Είναι απίθανο η Ουάσιγκτον να αποφασίσει για χερσαία επιχείρηση, αλλά η εκτόξευση πυραύλων και αεροπορικών επιδρομών εναντίον των εχθρών του Ισραήλ είναι ένα απολύτως αποδεκτό και οικείο σενάριο για τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες.

Eyewitness testimony reported Wednesday by Al Jazeera accused Israeli troops of massacring forcibly displaced women and children sheltering at a school in northern Gaza, an allegation that prompted a leading U.S. Muslim advocacy group to demand a response from President Joe Biden.
The reported massacre took place at the Shadia Abu Ghazala School in the al-Faluja area west of the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip. Video footage aired by the Qatar-based news network showed numerous covered bodies piled in one of the school’s classrooms.
“The Israeli soldiers came in and opened fire on them,” one unidentified witness said. “They took all men, then entered classrooms and opened fire on a woman and all the children with her,” including “newborn children.”
“The Israeli soldiers executed those innocent families point-blank,” she added.
A man who arrived at the scene after the alleged mass murder told Al Jazeera that “we found dozens of dead bodies in the classrooms.”
“There is no sign of any missiles or shells,” he added. “All those who were in the buildings were executed from point-blank. The Israeli soldiers opened fire on them. Many families came searching for their children. They found them all killed. They were all killed, executed at gunpoint.”
