This is critical, and I don't think enough people realize what's going on with this.
The key question is, "Why is this looting ALLOWED to happen?" Because it's obviously being *allowed* to happen. The police won't go after these people. In parts of California they have made looting legal, so long as the items, per person, are less than $950. If a shop owner tries to stop the looting, they will be the ones prosecuted -- not the looters.
That would never be the case -- unless you want the looting to occur.
*Why* they want the looting to occur is the key, and I think this guy is correct. They want people so sick of it, that whatever draconian solution that's offered will be better than constant looting.
