Bet you didnt know this:

Can you drive from Panama to Colombia?

No, you cannot drive from North America to South America. Although the continents are connected by land, there is no road linking Panama and Colombia. The Pan American Highway stops at the Darien Gap, an undeveloped area that spans the border.

Building a road through the wilderness here has been discussed for over 100 years, but there are reasons why there is no road between Panama and Colombia. https://www.aswesawit.com/cross-the-darien-gap/

I like adventures but the Darien Gap is too much. If one likes canoe trips, I would recommend the Boundary Waters in northern Minnesota. I have been on two different canoe trips in that area and each one was amazing and the fishing was great.

Yes, the Darian gap is quite deadly, from La Montana del Muerte, the bandits, native tribes, jungle. It's nuts.

I can not emphasize enough how much energy is stored in a wheel’s rotational mass. Letting go of a spinning flywheel at speed is crazy dangerous. Apparently the Kia driver walked away and hopefully there was no passenger.

Notice the pickup driver is about to be charged with leaving the scene of an accident.... apparently.

I actually don't know. Someone posted it as lens flares but its probably just puddles or an oil spot. not sure. One thing is for sure, those Chinese off-brand tires can be malicious. It came back a second time to be sure max damage inflicted. :)

Years ago attended a safety presentation by a Texas state trooper. When asked about seat belts, he said you should only wear one if you want to survive. Hundreds of accident responses. Essentially everyone that stayed in a car that rolled lived. If you did not, you got crushed. Seat belt is the only thing that has any chance to keep you there. Said to look at the cars in the junkyard when you go by. What do you see? Passenger compartments are always the last part destroyed. If it's even mostly intact, nearly everyone lives. Keep your arse in the car; wear your seat belt.

Our traffic here in Kansas City is worsening on a daily basis. One problem is that the population has overgrown to the point that roads are overcrowded and people are speeding in areas of construction that make it worse causing more accidents. I read that in the US an average of 350 people die in car accidents daily. That is a whole lot of death going on that is not acknowledged.

Add vaxxidents to that and we have a mess. Adding another 2 seconds between you and the next car can be a lifesaver.

I am always reminding my husband to leave more space between our vehicle and the car in front of us. I remember seeing a show discuss the importance of reaction time many years ago and I still keep it in mind. When I drive I use the five second rule as a minimum.

Y'all think an auto accident is a big deal, but this ol'mechanic's baker's dozen m/bike crashes are the real deal...Muhammad Ali's : 'Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee' is when you're bouncing on the tarmac like a basketball, each impact deflating your lungs, bashing every square inch of your carcass& wondering all the while when&how will it end...ps that was decades before m/bike leathers airbag gizmos, so you wear the scars as a badge of honor[ha,ha] and barometer. Consider yourselves fortunate.
