Yep. That old dating trick could lead to extreme mission failure :)

This tech would favor strong but smaller weight people, maybe even women instead of men just for the pounds saved. And I thought ultralight planes were minimalistic, this is crazy. Probably more efficient than a robot dog, but why a human instead of just a drone (to search for missing hikers for instance). Waaaay cheaper to use a drone and no loss of life if there is an air bubble in the gas line.

When the first ones are shot down by enemy AAMs, no one wants to fly them.

Would that require an ATM (air-to-man) missile? :)

An ATM missile? Maybe an ATM only (Automated Teller Machine) thrown at them, or a decent counter attack by the 'Association des Tondeurs de Moutons' (French: Association of Sheep Shearers) would be enough to take them out. There are quite a few ATM means by which they could be defeated, which are listed here: https://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/ATM 😈

Re: military... Jetpacks vs hypersonics? Mmm.

Very cool however... Jetpac is now a thing, it's a shame they weren't building rocket ships and collecting fuel and diamonds falling from the sky...

There's always the danger of a "RAPID UNSCHEDULED DISASSEMBLY" as with the experimental Spacex rocket today. (that's an "explosion" folks!)
