The state was made for us, not us for the state. I was hearing on a recent Dr. Drew that Marjorie Taylor Greene viewed the government as a business, and us as its customers. I pushed back and said no...we are the employers. That's what you don't get. We are the ones who developed the government to serve us. The founding fathers knew very well the ideas that come to those who get into power, and in knowing their nature, created a system that was designed to keep it in check. Possibly in knowing that a government "for the people by the people" was a pipe dream.
Yeah Jimmy and it looks like we the people are getting the pipe from that dream. If the founders designed a system to keep things in check, it's what the kids call an epic fail. If it was designed for another purpose, it might have just been a huge success. I touched on the subject a few weeks ago and thought you might have an interest. Best of luck ~~ j ~~
Most systems are going to fail because they tend to forget human nature. I wouldn't say it is an epic fail though. Communism and Nazism are epic fails. There are probably others we could mention as well. How would we quantify what makes an "epic fail?"
I agree that there is a lot "I don't even know." But I have read through the Constitution and while it isn't perfect, it has some pretty good ideas. Also some pretty sad and glaring loopholes. I listened to a debate recently between Tom Woods and Michael Malice on Hamilton (found on youtube from 2013) and it was a good listen in regards to some of the shortcomings of the Constitution. A lot of the grist of thought for the mill. Malice and Woods also teamed up to challenge some of the ideas of the Constitution in an amusing animated series.
There is a part of me that took "umbrage" with your remarks on the Constitution, but I know only too well that it is but a document. Even the best document written infallibly, with the best intentions, keeping in mind all the nuances of human nature, is only as good as the ideas and fortitude motivating the people to work with it.
What would your ideal Constitution look like? Does there even need to be a Constitution?
I don't remember the exact quote, but Benjamin Franklin probably said it best. After the Constitutional Convention, somebody asked him what they had created, to which he replied, "A Constitution written for a moral and ethical people. It is wholly inadequate for any other." So at least one of them remembered human nature ;-)
Regarding the need for a Constitution, Gary Barnett says it better than I ever could:
It has taken me a few years to figure it out, but I am thoroughly convinced that all government is the antithesis of freedom. I had a little fun with the concept in this one:
The problem is...as you mentioned in the first link...that not everyone wants the personal responsibility of self government. On twitter someone actually said in response to masks being reinstituted in a health care facility that they were jubilant because all they wanted was an indicator that masks were accepted again and that "someone else made the decision for them."
I think that was why my visceral response in 2020 to floating the mask idea was "no, not this."
I think the Constitution itself is an indictment that supports your assertion that government is the antithesis of freedom. And then of course there is the Bill of Rights. But in the last 3+years we have plainly seen how much words on paper actually means.
An Iranian hacker group, Cyber AV3ngers, had the ability to break into a water municipality station in Pennsylvania. The system operated on Unitronics, owned by Israeli entities. The alarms immediately sounded, but the authorities are claiming the water is still safe to drink. Iran and the US have secretly been at war since this Israel-Palestine situation began, and now, Iran is targeting US infrastructure.
It is laughable to think that 0% of the migrants released into the country have ties to terrorism. New wars need not be fought with bombs and bullets. The war has arrived at our doorstep, and the enemy can attack us without stepping foot on our soil. https://www.armstrongeconomics.com/world-news/war/iran-attacks-pennsylvania/
Nine migrants who gang raped a 15 y/o girl in a park in Germany for over 2.5 hours just got their sentences:
One of them goes to jail for 2 years. The eight others walk away freely with suspended sentences. European girls are fair game. Sold out by our establishments.
The female psychiatrist on the case, Nahlah Saimeh, claimed that the rapists might have used the gang rape as an instrument to “let out their anger and frustration relating to their migration background”. Female solidarity, huh? Such an insane level of betrayal. Sheer evil.
If you received business payments via apps such as PayPal or Venmo or e-commerce companies such as eBay, Etsy or Poshmark in 2023, your tax return may now be a little less complicated.
The IRS announced Tuesday that 2023 would be a “transition year” for a new tax reporting requirement affecting such payments. Once in place, it will trigger Form 1099-K for just $600 in payments, even if that income stemmed from a single business transaction.
This is a hard mindset to solidify and maintain.

Inspiring. THANK YOU!!
The true fight for freedom would be sure to include the decimation of all government and its spindly tentacles of destruction.
Maybe. You haven't met my in laws. The law is all that keeps them from savagery :(
