I think that fellow talking about cats and dogs was hilarious! My pets are houseplants. They are beautiful and easy to take care of and give me lots of good air quality and embellish my home. At last count, I have over 50.
I do like both cats and dogs and have had both in my home over the years. I do take care of my friend's cat as she travels quite often. My son has a Mountain Cur that I also keep when he is gone on business trips and his dog doesn't seem to notice the plants. Yes, a dog is a man's best friend!!
Rhododendrons are great easy-care plants. They can withstand neglect, and overwatering as well. The Ficus tree is another great choice. I have had mine for 16 years and it is nearly five feet tall. Palms, English Ivy, Snake Plant, Peace Lily, Aloe, Dragon Tree, Ferns, Fiddle Leaf Fig, and Spider Plants are also great choices. Of course, if you have pets you do need to train them to not bother the plants.
All my relatives have cats. They can't keep them off the counters. My 8 pound chihuahua is every bit as aloof and picky eating and demanding as any cat and much more affectionate plus she doesn't get on my counters. And she doesn't bring me dead animals as presents. So I like dogs better. JMHO 😊🐶
