So here's an easy way to save $100 or more:
Spring has just arrived for many of us, and you may have already had the disappointing experience of turning on your car aircon (AC) only to feel it putting out warm or sub optimal air when it should be blowing 66 Farenheit or better.
Fixing this will run you $150 at an honest mechanic, or many hundreds more at one who convinces you that you need a full clean out or new parts.
Most of you just need a $7 AC recharge, and you can do it yourself in 5 minutes.
Get a can of refrigerant from Walmart or any similar shop. If you don't have a screw on guage with pressure dial like the one shown, add one for another 10 bucks or buy a package deal. (Save it for next time so you'll only need to buy the AC can)
Pop your hoods and find the “L” (low pressure) inlet on your AC system. It's one of the little pipes coming out of your radiator. Unscrew the little cap and set it safely aside.
Now start the car and turn the AC on full blast and the temp to max cold. Feel the output.
Remember: RIGHTY TIGHTY, LEFTY LOOSEY -when loosening stuff:)
Now shake the can for 10 seconds, attach the quick connect end over the “L” inlet, invert the can, and squeeze.
Pause every few seconds and watch the guage. Repeat until it shows well into the green area.
Stop and feel the vent you left on. It should be blowing WAY colder now!!
Now go check the pressure one last time, and add if needed.
Boom! You're done.
Enjoy the massive self sufficiency feels. Let it soak in for a minute.
Repeat a Stewart Smalley self- affirmation… “..Because I'm good enough, I'm strong enough, and dammit, people LIKE me..!”
Actually, just pocket the $145 you saved, and subscribe right now with the other $5.
Enjoy!
